Just as the hiring manager is trying to figure out whether you\u2019d be a good fit for the company, you in turn should make sure that the job, company culture and work environment is a good fit for you!\nComing to the interview with some questions prepared in advance demonstrates to the employer that you\u2019re interested in more than a paycheck\u2014you\u2019re interested in becoming a contributing, integrated member of the team and organization.\n<h3>Basic Questions to Ask the Interviewer<\/h3>\nUse the following list of questions as a starting point when thinking about what to ask the hiring manager:\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n\t<li>Why is this job open?<\/li>\n\t<li>What are the organization\u2019s most important goals this year?<\/li>\n\t<li>Can you describe a typical day for the person in this job?<\/li>\n\t<li>What types of training are provided?<\/li>\n\t<li>Please describe the advancement opportunities in the company.<\/li>\n\t<li>What is your management style (or that of my prospective supervisor)?<\/li>\n\t<li>What changes do you see in the company\u2019s future<\/li>\n\t<li>When do you expect to make hiring decision?<\/li>\n\t<li>When can I start?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Preparing Your Own Questions for the Interview<\/h3>\nNow complete the following exercise, keeping in mind the specific company or agency at which you want to interview.\n<ul>\n\t<li>What job are you applying for?<\/li>\n\t<li>What kind of company or agency is it?<\/li>\n\t<li>What questions will you ask in the interview:\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">\n\t<li>About the work itself?<\/li>\n\t<li>About the work environment?<\/li>\n\t<li>To show interest in the organization beyond the specific job?<\/li>\n\t<li>To show you are ambitious and want a future career path?<\/li>\n\t<li>About what is important in the organization?<\/li>\n\t<li>About how your work will be evaluated?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nDevelop at least five questions you could ask in the interview and add them to the list you started above.\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An interview isn\u2019t just a chance for the employer to get to know you\u2014it\u2019s also a chance for you to get to know the company at which you\u2019re applying.
